THE CHALLENGE
Why Food Systems Matter
Food and agriculture remain central to Africa's economic transformation, employment, and human well-being. However, food systems across the continent face mounting pressures from climate change, market fragmentation, limited access to innovation, and weak value chain integration.
HubLib Africa works to strengthen food and agriculture systems through integrated approaches that connect farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, and markets. By aligning innovation, enterprise development, and policy engagement, we support food systems that are productive, climate-resilient, nutrition-sensitive, and inclusive.
Climate Vulnerability
Increasing climate shocks threaten productivity and farmer livelihoods across African agricultural systems.
Smallholder Exclusion
Smallholder farmers often lack access to markets, finance, and innovation needed to thrive.
Weak Value Chains
Fragmented value chains limit income growth and food system resilience throughout the continent.
